I honestly don’t know if I would have seen and avoided that, it came up really fast. And based on the video it looked like a cardboard box or something not worth avoiding until it was within 2-3 seconds range.


It may look like that on video, but in fact you can hear the two guys pointing it out and chatting about it a whole 8 seconds before impact.

Also of course you're avoiding an unknown object that large, especially when there's plenty of space to go around it on either side.

If you still don't think you can avoid something like that, please get off the road for everyone's safety.


It's easy to give you credit here—you would have seen it and avoided it. They saw it and had plenty of time to steer to the left, in the open lane, to avoid it.


It was at least six seconds between the co driver pointing it out and the car hitting the object. The screen shows 77mph, which means he saw it from approx. 200m distance. Anybody would at least be able to prepare or slow down in such a situation.
