I use reddit significantly less now. I'd say ~90% drop in usage considering that I used to access it every single day for multiple topics.
I still go there for certain information, but now I really only look at it maybe once a week. And usually that is exclusive to acquiring game related information.
I was a heavy user of the Sync app, so my mobile usage of reddit has gone from "A lot" to 0.
I'm expecting myself to use it frequently during the Tokyo Game Show to discuss stuff. But that would heavily depend on the content of the Tokyo Game Show. So we will have to see.
Last time, I was one of the main people translating the content into English. If there's a Kojima walk through of deathstranding2, that will be #1 on my todo from a gaming nerd standpoint.
I barely use it now. Every now and then, out of habit maybe, I visit the website on my phone, scroll for 20 to 30 seconds and then my brain is like - “oh no, I don’t enjoy this anymore.” And I close it. I used it for years. I find it funny how I automatically do this without thinking.
For the most part I left Reddit. Sure, I occasionally view certain subs as a guest (maybe once a week for stuff like web development and tech), but I haven't used my account in months and I don't check posts on most subreddits anywhere near as often as I used to.
Interestingly, I'd say it wasn't just caused by the API changes, but the realisation that the Reddit system is an unhealthy one that rewards addiction without giving much of value in return.
I don't use it anymore. Not necessarily because of the API drama but I've found that Reddit has turned into a place where the comments are mostly awful now. I put it down to the fact that most users are now on mobile instead of desktop.
Content wise it felt less and less relevant to me as time went by, even before the mod hissyfits. After the drama, there’s even less. So it’s my death scroll of last resort now.
