The funniest part is actually specifying "Enter CTRL-F and type in (company name)". For what role would you hire where the applicant won't know how to do a search in a browser?
Not trying to defend anyone but (at least to me), the Ask HN: Who's hiring always opens up with comments sorted with latest first i.e. sorted by time vs by upvotes.
Maybe its the extension I use or the default setting. Not sure.
I don't think that's entirely the case; it seems votes are weighed much lower than normal, but they're still weighed. An example would be this post, which is quite high up even though there are many newer posts.
