I'd say just buy them if you need it now. Web developers sometimes need to use docker and VMs for various development tasks and testing. Sure you can run docker in arm, but not all docker images has arm version available. Running Linux and windows vm will probably a challenge as well, at least until we know how well x86 simulator run in the new arm laptop.
